| About
Alexandra Lauretano::
- Age:
19
- Where I live: Orlando, Florida
- Where I'm from: Morris, Connecticut
Sport Interests: Snow skiing, biking, field hockey, waterskiing
How I got started with water skiing: I grew up doing everything from gymnastics, to baseball, to snowski racing. Waterskiing is just the one that stuck with me I guess! (Alex began waterskiing on Bantam Lake in Connecticut at the age of three, and entered her first competition at age six.)
Athletic achievements: 2006 Pan American Championships junior women jump champion, 2006 Junior Masters jump champion, co-holder junior women US national jump record, snow ski raced in the junior olympics.
Athletic goals: I’ve skied a couple pro events when I was a junior, but this is my first year out of juniors so I really just want to get some good scores at some of the tour stops so I can get my ranking up.
Inspiration: My competitors, musicians, artists—anyone who is successful in what they do.
Philosophy: I just try to be happy and have fun with what I do.
Favorite spot to water ski: Bantam lake.. it's the lake I grew up on and that my parents still live on.
Favorite Girls4Sport wear: The short reversible boardshorts. They are really comfortable and secure to ski in and match a lot of the rash guard tops
What I do when I'm not in the water: I co-own a dock company, so i’m always busy with that. I work with PETA and set up tables for them at concerts. I go to the gym a lot, and spend way too much money going to concerts.
My job/education: I'm a student at Florida Southern College. I also work as a nanny.
Interesting/unusual facts about me: I'm a vegetarian and I love John Lennon.
