In her own words:: "Surf
as much as possible. My job at the Ritz Carlton provides me lots of flexibility
to do that. Actually, the Ritz is 'athlete-friendly.' Lots of serious amateur
and professional athletes work at my location in Dana Point. The biggest thrill
for me competing in the First Women's Pipeline Championship
was dropping into the biggest wave of the two-day event. The jet ski rescue
team was on the way to get me, but I waved them off. I wanted to get back
out there and catch another wave. (If you get on the jet ski, you automatically
lose the heat.) I love to motivate, promote, and encourage other females to bodyboard.
It's so much fun and great exercise too. I have a simply philosophy: Be good,
do good things for people, do good things in life and good things will come back
to you. Maybe even the perfect wave!"
