Girls4Sport sponsors First Annual Women's Pipeline Championship
Announces new team riders and contestants Monica Dell'Amore and Tara Higgins

SANTA CRUZ, CA., March 10, 2005- Performance clothing designer and manufacturer Girls4Sport sponsors First Annual T & C Women's Pipeline Contest to be held during the waiting period March 11 - 16, 2005 at the world-famous Hawaiian surf spot of the same name. Known for its barreling tube rides, 110 elite water women from around the world will complete at Pipeline in surfing, bodyboarding, and longboarding. Girls4Sport's newest team riders, Monica Dell'Amore and Tara Higgins will be competing in the prestigious event. Both Dell'Amore and Higgins are top-ranked body boarders.

"Girls4Sport is thrilled to be apart of this historic event. Females have been competing at Pipeline for years, but this is the first all-female event at Pipeline," says, Kim Ruby, president of Girls4Sport. "These female athletes have an opportunity to showcase the power and grace of women's surfing while inspiring other female athletes to dive in."

Tara Higgins
Placing 1st in the 2003/04 Bodyboarding International Association Tour and 2nd in the 2004 Pac Coast Pro Tour in Southern California, Higgins combines her love of the water and competitive drive for her continued top ranking. Higgins 27, almost a California Native, moving to Southern California at age one, now resides in San Clemente. Higgins is sponsored by BZ Pro Boards, Island Style, and Hansen's Energy Drinks. When she's not catching waves, Higgins works as a nurse and office manager in Mission Viejo, California.

"Since 1995 I've been coming to the North Shore to surf Pipeline. Pipeline's power is both inspirational and humbling," says Higgins. "I feel honored to have the opportunity to compete against contestants that have been surfing Pipeline for years. I'm physically and mentally prepared for this exciting challenge."

Monica Dell'Amore
Originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, Dell'Amore now resides in Dana Point. Taking 1st place overall in the 2004 Pac Coast Pro Tour, Dell'Amore 30 makes bodyboarding a daily regimen and attributes her success to that along with having a positive, outgoing attitude. Dell'Amore is also sponsored by BZ Pro Boards, Victory Wetsuits, Hansen's Energy Drinks, Pisces Swimwear, MOD Lifestyle Jewelry, Sambazon, Island Style, and Spa Yoie. Dell'Amore is a caterer at the Ritz Carleton at Dana Point, a job that gives her the flexibility to compete as a professionally bodyboarder.

"One of my goals is to motivate, promote and encourage other females to bodyboard," says Dell'Amore. "Having the opportunity to bodyboard at an all-female contest at Pipeline gives me the opportunity to compete with the best while inspiring other women to grab a bodyboard and get in the water, maybe not at Pipeline, but at a friendly home break."
