SANTA CRUZ , CA-- Who knew that kids’ sun protection could be so cute? Santa Cruz-based designer of women’s surf and swimwear Girls4Sport is the proud parent of a splashy new line of sun-protective swimwear for little girls. The new line hits stores this week.
Featuring fun flower prints in candy apple reds and princess pinks, Girls4Sport’s new children’s swimwear collection includes long sleeve, cap sleeve, and halter-style swim tops that can be paired with super-cute hipster bottoms and swim shorts. The comfy swimwear fabrics are rated at the maximum UPF rating of 50+ and block at least 98% of UVA and UVB rays. The cap sleeve cut protects girls’ backs, chests, and shoulders from the sun’s harmful rays, while the long sleeve style also protects girls’ arms.
“Protecting kids from the sun can be a challenge,” said Kim Ruby, president of Girls4Sport and the mother of a three-year-old daughter. “We wanted to provide parents with cute but practical options for sun protection that would also appeal to a girl’s sense of style.”
Toddlers’ sizes range from 2T to 4T, and youth sizes range from S (6-8) to L (14-16). The swimwear separates retail from $20 to $35 and will be available in stores and online at www.girls4sport.com beginning this week.
